On a new EATS muffler in excellent condition, the actual SCR outlet NOx level can be close to zero most of the time, including times when an aged EATS muffler is expected to have more than 10 ppm NOx, an expected change from normal use. Getting this code occasionally is not an indication of NOx sensor failure or EATS system failure. Solution If a vehicle has this code logged on a DTC Readout: - Review the Detailed Status Information for the relevant code on the DTC Readout. • If Confirmed DTC is TRUE: Proceed with diagnostics. • If Confirmed DTC is FALSE: Do not troubleshoot the code.
