Check Engine Lamp with DTC P0496 stored
Customer Voice:
– The Check Engine Lamp is on.
Technical Description:
– DTC P0496 is stored in the PCM.
– The fuel tank leak test routine and purge valve self test return passing results.
– This is caused by an bug in the software and is set when the gas cap is removed
for refueling prior to the ignition being turned off.
Status:
– Reference SSM 74279 or SSM 74280.
– Ensure the vehicle does not have a hardware fault present and do not replace
parts if no hardware fault is identified.
– Updated PCM software is currently scheduled for release in April 2019.
