Note:
This condition as described does not affect vehicle performance or operation.
Technical Background
Secondary Air Pressure Sensor may be contaminated by foreign particles during secondary air injection.
Production Solution
New sensor in production from calendar week 47/2011.
Service
Tip:
2005 thru 2008 vehicles are equipped with a secondary air hose and sensor that are repairable separately.
If only the sensor is faulty, replace just the sensor. If the secondary air hose is damaged for any reason,
replace the secondary air hose and sensor together as outlined below.

Introduction
 Install sensor Service-kit Part Number: 07K 198 125.
Note:
Original components were manufactured as an assembly (hose with sensor).
Updated sensor can be serviced separately from hose, see ETKA under part number 07K 906 051 *.

Note:
Service-kit uses a different sensor and connector.
An adapter harness is supplied with sensor
Service-kit. It is to be connected between the
vehicle harness and the new sensor.

Note:
Adapter harness will be secured in position using
the two supplied clips.
Procedure
 Remove Air Cleaner Housing and intake tube to Throttle Body per repair manual instruction.
 Remove the four T30 screws securing Throttle Body to Intake Manifold.
 Disconnect throttle body electrical connection and set Throttle Body aside.
 Remove original Secondary Air Pressure Hose between Air Pump and one-way valve per repair manual
instruction.

Technical Bulletin
 Install new Secondary Air Pressure Hose supplied in Service-kit.
 Install adapter as shown in figures 1 and 2 below.
 Re-install Throttle Body, intake tube and Air Cleaner Housing.
 Secure clip N 04 466 01 midway on
adapter harness Secure other (larger
end) of clip onto air pipe, 20 mm from
sensor.
 Install the new secondary air hose with
sensor and harness into original part
position.
 Connect adapter harness to engine
harness.
 Secure clip 155 971 787 B to engine
harness (directly next to its connector
housing cover). Secure other end to
vacuum hose seen directly below
secondary air hose.
 Ensure adapter harness is now routed and
mounted as shown; in a vertical position
that does not have the possibility to chafe
against other objects.
 Reinstall Throttle body, intake tube and air
cleaner housing per repair manual
instruction.
