 No customer concerns, it is found during PDI or any other diagnostic work.
Workshop findings:
The following DTC may be stored instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 0017):
 DTC B200041 (control unit faulty, static).
Technical Background
Diagnostics are too sensitive.
Production Solution
New software in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 0017) addressed the condition.
Service
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
1. Update the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 0017) using the SVM action code as listed
in the table below, if necessary, following the additional instructions stated below:
A vehicle without Audi advanced key (PR Code 4I2):

A vehicle with Audi advanced key (PR Code 4I3):
1. Before starting the update the steering column should be fully extended. This allows full access to the key
reader coil on the right side of the steering column. The ignition key must be held or temporarily taped to the
key reader coil during the update.
2. Start the update on the workshop tester by selecting update and entering the specified SVM code.
3. If the message "…hold the
vehicle key on the
transponder…" appears, hold
the vehicle key as shown in
Figure 1 on the provided
recess of the steering
column. Once the update
starts in the Audi virtual
cockpit keep the holding key
in this position until the
update is completed.
