Warranty Extension: 2015-18 Fit and 2016-18 HR-V White Paint
Today, June 5, 2019, American Honda is announcing a warranty extension for certain 2015-18 Fit and
2016-18 HR-V vehicles with White Orchid Pearl paint to address customer concerns with peeling paint.
American Honda is extending the paint warranty coverage from 3 years/unlimited mileage to 7
years/unlimited mileage.
BACKGROUND
Some 2015-18 Fit and 2016-18 HR-V vehicles that were originally painted White Orchid Pearl may be
suscep ble to peeling due to insufficient paint thickness at areas including, but not limited to, the roof
and around the tailgate. Please refer to the service bulle n referenced below for a comprehensive list
of parts covered under this warranty extension. Due to this condi on, UV rays could penetrate to the
underlayer, causing oxida on and leading to peeling of the paint.
REPAIR
Inspect the vehicle and, if necessary, have a ProFirst Cer fied Body Shop repaint the affected panel(s)
with a two-part color and clear coat. Also, be aware that DPSM approval is needed before comple ng
any work.
PARTS
If needed, replacement moldings, emblems, or clips are available for ordering. Refer to the parts
catalog for applicable part numbers.
TOOLS
There are no special tools or equipment required for this repair.
SERVICE BULLETIN
Service bulle n 19-064, Warranty Extension: White Orchid Pearl Paint, has been posted to the Service
Informa on System (SIS) as of June 5, 2019. It includes warranty, inspec on, and repair procedure
informa on related to this warranty extension.
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
American Honda expects to complete customer no fica on by the end of July.
