Power Window Switch Changes
INTRODUCTION:
This bulletin announces availability of new power window switch assemblies developed to address
the following customer concerns:
•
Power windows inoperative from the driver’s door master and / or passenger front door
switch
•
Unable to remotely operate other door windows from the driver’s door master switch
•
One-Touch Auto Up / Down features inoperative from either / both front door switches.

switch(s) to order and replace.

switch).

“R” means replace. On MOST Legacy / Outback models the Main and R/F (sub) switches
should be replaced as a set.
•
“N/A” means the corresponding Main or Sub switch does NOT need to be replaced.
•
Always order the most up-to-date replacement switch(s) based on the specific VIN being
repaired.

SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:
REMINDER: Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
The service procedures for power window switch replacement remain unchanged. Always refer to
the applicable Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair being performed before
proceeding. The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective
repair the first time and every time.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Whenever the battery is disconnected (or an applicable power
window switch replaced), the power window initialization procedure must be performed to restore
proper auto-up / down functionality.
WARRANTY / CLAIM INFORMATION:
For vehicles within the Basic New Car Limited Warranty period or covered by an active Subaru
Added Security Classic or Gold plan, refer to the Labor Time Guide on Subarunet for the proper
claim coding information.

•
