Bulletin No.: PIP5641B Published date: 06/17/2019 Preliminary Information PIP5641B Diagnostic Aid: DTC P0A3F or P1B03 - Drive Motor Position Sensor Circuit Models Brand: Chevrolet Model: Model Years: Bolt EV 2017 - 2019 VIN: from All Engine: to All All Transmissions: All Involved Region or Country North America Condition The customer may mention that a loss of propulsion was experienced. The vehicle may operate normally after the vehicle was restarted at a later time. History code P0A3F and sometimes P1B03 are found in the Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module. Cause Engineering is currently investigating the cause of these diagnostic trouble codes. It is believed they are faults with the electrical circuit that may not self-heal. Correction: If you have a Car located in Southern Michigan setting the P0A3F, please call Technical Assistance for Possible engineering interaction. Do not Clear any codes Please do not Continue with this PI unless instructed by Technical Assistance. For vehicles NOT located in Southern Michigan, Please perform the Following. Using SI DocID 4583435 as a guide, inspect the terminals at connector X1 at the T6 Power Inverter Module and the X2 connector at the T12 Transmission Assembly. Pay special attention to the Diagnostic Aids in SI DocID 4583435. Look for any backed out, bent, or spread terminals on both sides of the connector. 1. If a concern is found with a terminal, please contact Technical Assistance and provide a clear picture of the issue. Replace the under-hood "engine" harness and the mating component of the terminal concern. If there are no terminal problems found, please replace the power inverter module, the under-hood "engine" harness, and the transmission. This is for protection of the customer for any circuit imperfection that could cause these DTCs while the engineering investigation is in progress. These components are not on TAC restriction. When preparing the parts for Return Please protect all of the T6 X1 and T12 X2 connector ends for warranty parts return analysis. Submit labor code and include all 3 parts on the transmission repair order.
