Correction
Some customers may comment on a check engine light on the Driver Information
Center (DIC) illuminated.
Some technicians may find one or more of the following DTCs set in the Engine Control
Module (ECM):
• P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Performance
• P0046: Turbocharger Boost Control Position Performance
• P20EE: NOx Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold
• P249D: Closed Loop Reductant Injection Control At Limit - Flow Too Low
• P249E: Closed Loop Reductant Injection Control At Limit - Flow Too High
The cause of the condition may be an ECM software anomally.
Important: For vehicles registered in Canada, please see field action N192220100.
Check the Engine Control Module (ECM) for the latest update:
• If the software version is not the latest update, reprogram the ECM following the
Service Procedure below.
• If the ECM has already been updated, continue with SI diagnostics for the codes set in
the ECM.
Service Procedure
If programming the ECM then refer to K20 Engine
Control Module: Programming and Setup in SI.
Note: Stable battery voltage is critical during
programming. Any fluctuation, spiking, over voltage or
loss of voltage will interrupt programming. Install a GM
Authorized Programming Support Tool to maintain
system voltage. Refer to for further information. If not
available, connect a fully charged 12 V jumper or
booster pack disconnected from the AC voltage supply.
DO NOT connect a battery charger

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
information.
