In conjunction with the City of Compton, Audi will be sending Takata airbag recall
reminder notices to approximately 78 Audi owners in the State of California on August 5,
2019.
A copy of the owner notification is attached for your reference.
Please make every effort to quickly schedule owners who contact your dealership for a
repair appointment.
Parts Department: Parts are available.
Please coordinate with your service department to ensure that parts are on hand to
support all scheduled appointments.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: VEHICLES AFFECTED BY SAFETY & COMPLIANCE RECALLS
New Vehicles in Dealer Inventory: It is a violation of federal law for a dealer to deliver a new
motor vehicle or any new or used item of motor vehicle equipment (including a tire) covered by
this notification under a sale or lease until the defect or noncompliance is remedied. By law,
dealers must correct, prior to delivery for sale or lease, any vehicle that fails to comply with an
applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard or that contains a defect relating to motor
vehicle safety.
Pre-Owned Vehicles in Dealer Inventory: Dealers should not deliver any pre-owned vehicles in
their inventory which are involved in a safety or compliance recall until the defect has been
remedied.

The City of Compton is contacting you personally because your Audi has a recalled airbag that could kill or
seriously injure you and your passengers.
The City of Compton has received information from Audi that the vehicle that is currently registered in your
name with the Vehicle Identification Number [VIN] has been recalled. If the airbag deploys, in some cases, a
part within the airbag may explode and spray sharp metal fragments or shrapnel toward you and your
passengers.
According to records from Audi, your vehicle has not been repaired yet. The potentially lifesaving repair
