Refer to the El ectronic Service Manual (ESM) for more detail on soft top disasse mbl y: REPAIR > BODY EXTERIOR, DOORS, ROOF & VEHICLE SECURITY > ROOF > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > ROOF SEALING. 1. Detach the front side of the rear rail weather strip fro m the window frame rail . Open the soft top hal f way to hel p with detachme nt. Rear rail weather strip Figure 1 2. Refer to Figure 9 and Figure 10 and confir m which styl e is being updated (Styl e C not shown). 9. Confir m which soft top styl e is being updated. Style A: Vehicl es buil t in April 2015 or earl ier, proceed to step 10 on the next page. Without round bungee ring Figure 9 Style B: Vehicl es buil t in May 2015 or l ater, proceed to step 18 on page 9. Style C: Vehicl es buil t in June 2017 or l ater with rectangul ar bungee ring (not shown), skip to step 26 on page 12. Cut through the bungees where indicated in Figure 11 with an appropriate tool . 11. Re move and discard the bungee pieces that were cut through. 12. Re move the TORX screw indicated in Figure 11 that retains the bungee strap, and pl ace the screw aside. Discard the strap. HINT: This screw wil l be reused in step 16. Attach the new bungee strap, with the TORX screw that was put aside in step 12, to the sa me spot that the TORX screw was re moved fro m. Do not tighten the TORX screw co mpl etel y. It wil l be removed again l ater in this procedure. Do not use powered tool s to install the TORX screw. The TORX screw hol e is easil y da maged by overtorqueing and/or misal ign ment. Cut through the bungees where indicated in Figure 16 with an appropriate tool . 19. Re move and discard the bungee pieces that were cut through. 20. Re move the TORX screw indicated in Figure 16 that retains the bungee strap and pl ace the screw aside. Discard the strap. HINT: This screw wil l be reused in step 25. Insert the 5th bow bungee (BUNGEE5TH BOW) through the bracket asse mbl y install ed in step 15 (Styl e A) or 24 (Styl e B) (see Figure 22). Reference nu mber 4 on page 30. Insert 5th bow bungee 27. Attach one end of the 5th bow bungee to the rear of the 5th bow, where the ol d bungee strap was attached, in the orientation shown in Figure 23. Attach new 5th bow bungee here If the ol d bungee strap is stil l attached at the point shown in Figure 23, re move it and reuse Torx screw to attach the new bungee. YES: Skip to step 41. NO: Proceed to step 37. 37. Re move the push-nut and then pull the l ink-pin out of the 5th bow linkage joint (see Figure 32). 38. Loosen the l ock nut.
