CONDITION
SUMMARY:
SITUATION:
A 'Hood open' message may be displayed on the Instrument Cluster (IC) or the security
system status indicator may give an audible warning to indicate that the hood is not latched
correctly. Upon further inspection, the hood is correctly latched.
CAUSE:
This may be caused by water ingress into the hood latch micro switch.
ACTION:
Should a customer express this concern, follow the procedure(s) below.

WORKSHOP PROCEDURE:

NOTES:
Renew only the hood latch which has the micro switch.
The new hood latch must be installed in the same position as the original
hood latch.
Renew the hood latch (see TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-14: Handles, Locks,
Latches and Entry Systems - Removal and installation - Hood Latch).
