Preparatory work
1.1
Disconnect and connect battery charger.  Workshop Manual '2X00IN Battery trickle
charging'
1.2
Remove and install inner strips.  Workshop Manual '2X00IN Removing and installing inner
door sill trim'.
1.3
Remove and install cover for fuse box.  Workshop Manual '2X00IN Removing and installing
front side-section trim panel'.
1.4
Remove and install door entry guards.  Workshop Manual '2X00IN Removing and installing
cover strip'.

Information
Ensure socket contact is seated securely.
2
Route and plug in wire harness on driver's side
2.1
Fold over carpet on driver's side in the fuse box area.
2.2
Fit ground line - brown cable - of the wiring
harness on the ground pin  Figure 3 -1- in
the driver's footwell at the left. Tightening
torque: 6.5 ftlb. (9 Nm). Secure ground
line to the wiring harness  Figure 3 -2- with
adhesive tape/wrapping tape.

Plug power supply line - red cable - at the
black connector housing connection point
for the door wire harness on the connector
side coming from the vehicle into  Figure 4
-1-pin 16. Release connector and guide pin
into the connector housing until it locks with
an audible click. Lock the connector again
and connect it. Route cable on the wiring
harness  Figure 4 -2- down to the vehicle
floor and secure it to the wiring harness using
suitable adhesive tape/wrapping tape. Do
not use tie-wraps!

Route cables on the wiring harness as far
as the door entry guard using adhesive
tape/wrapping tape.

Fit illuminated door entry guard (see Step
1.4). Remove door seal close to the cable
routing and route cable over the body flange
 Figure 5 -1-. Fit door seal and connect
connector for illuminated door entry guard to
the connector on the wiring harness.
