EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80- is under the Intake Manifold making it difficult to diagnose.
Service


Engine off.
Disconnect EVAP line connection to -N80- EVAP
Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1, beneath
Coolant Expansion Tank - See figure 1.

Use the VAG1318 pressure gauge kit to
assemble an adaptor using tool numbers;
VAG1318/24, VAG1318/11 and the female to
female adaptor for the pressure gauge - See
figure 2.


Install the adaptor to the EVAP line connection to
EVAP Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1 -N80-.
Connect VAS6213 vacuum pump to the adaptor.
See figure 3.
Disconnect the electrical connector from EVAP
Canister Purge Valve -N80-.
Start engine and allow it to idle.

Monitor the reading on the vacuum gauge.

The reading should be at 0 PSI or higher (no vacuum
should be measured).


If vacuum is present, replace -N80- EVAP
Canister Purge Regulator Valve 1.
Perform leakage test to verify there are no further
issues
