Date: February 11, 2014 Order No.: T-B-32.34/84 32 Group: SUBJECT: MY- All, Model 166 with Code 468 Active Curve System Check Active Curve System Hydraulic Pump Oil spray or fouling on the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM is not related to leakage of the hydraulic pump. ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM hydraulic pumps are currently being removed in error due to presumed leakage. Because the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM is not defective, the procedure described below must be strictly adhered to. All ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM hydraulic pumps which have been examined due to presumed leakage have clearly proven that the hydraulic pumps were not leaking. The escaping fluid (oil spray or fouling, see arrow) is a mineral oil and not the Pentosin used in the P32.34-2036-81 Figure 1. On engine 157 with the belt drive removed. hydraulic pump! Replacement of the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM hydraulic pump in this case is not permissible! Procedure 1. Clean and dry the fouled points. 2. Apply contrasting agent to locate leakage. 3. Start engine and run for at least 15 minutes or perform a test drive of sufficient duration to allow the oil to reach its operating temperature. If necessary, hand the vehicle back to the customer and recall it again later for checks and diagnosis. 4. Locate location of oil leakage and rectify the leak. P32.34-2037-81 Figure 2.
