 The adaptive driving assistance is not available or cannot be activated.
Workshop findings:
One of the following DTCs may be stored in the control module for laserscanner, J1122 (address word 00CD):
 DTC C12EBF1 (laser for adaptive cruise control, malfunction) with symptom code 12582934, 11567120,
and/or 11546627.
Or
 DTC C12EB92 (laser for adaptive cruise control, malfunction) with symptom code 11546631 and/or 11546632.
Or
 DTC B200042 (control unit faulty) with symptom code 12582935.
Or
 DTC B200047 (control unit faulty) with symptom code 11567121.

The software needs to be updated to correct the adaptive driving assistance activation issue.

Service
If DTC C12EB92 is stored:
 Replace the control module for laserscanner, J1122 according to the repair manual.
 After the parts are replaced, check the software version.
 SW Version 0205: no further actions necessary.
 SW Version < 0205: perform the SVM code listed below
SVM Update Instructions:
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the control module for laserscanner, J1122 (address word 00CD) using the SVM action code as listed
in the table below, if necessary:

Tip: After the update, a bus sleep has to be awaited before clearing DTCs.
Tip: After the update to SW0205, the DTC C12EBF1 with symptom code 11546627 may still be stored.
However, this DTC has no more influence on the system’s functionality after the update and can now be ignored.
If the adaptive cruise assist can be reactivated, the vehicle can be released to the customer.
