SUBJECT:
Sun Visor Bracket Rattle or Squeak Noise
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting the sun visor and if needed, removing and tightening the sun visor
bracket attachment screws to specification.

America, APAC and EMEA.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after June 18, 2019 (MDH 0618XX) and on
or before September 18, 2019 (MDH 0918XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may comment on the following:
• One or both of the sun visors squeak or rattle (metal to metal noise) when moved into desired
position(s).
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above, perform the Diagnostic Procedure.
1. Verify the rattle or squeak noise is coming from the sun visor by moving the sun visor up/down
and swinging it side to side (Fig. 1) .

2. Did the sun visor rattle or squeak when moved?
• YES>>> Proceed to Step 1 of the Repair Procedure.
• NO>>> This bulletin does not apply. Normal diagnosis should be performed.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Loosen both sun visor bracket attachment screws (Fig. 1) .
2. Tighten both sun visor bracket attachment screws to 2.5 N·m (22 in. lbs).
POLICY:
Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
