TITLE:
TC 400 USA - Repositioning the diagnostics connector
COMPLAINT
The position of the diagnostics connector does not conform to legal requirements.
CAUSE
Error in the documentation.
REMEDY
Fit a new diagnostics connector in the legally specified position.
MEASURE TYPE
The scope of the work is carried out as part of a compliance recall (RC).
Observe the following at the time of parts ordering:
The transfer rates used in the diagnostics system differ by model year. Vehicles produced
in a model year up to 2015 have a baud rate of 250 k (black diagnostics connector);
vehicles from model year 2016 onwards use a baud rate of 500 k (green diagnostics
connector).
The model year is encoded in the 10th character of the chassis number. For each vehicle,
the respective model year can be determined from the overview provided.
DEFECT PART HANDLING
The GALA (warranty parts processing) stipulations are binding. Workshops without GALA
should scrap the defect parts immediately after the repair.
