Condition
The customer reports that every attempt to program Homelink to the garage door fails during ‘rolling code’ synchronization. The
code does not synchronize and the garage door does not operate on Homelink command.
Customer Instruction
If the customer has difficulty synchronizing the rolling code, present these instructions:
During Homelink programming (while in front of your garage door), you may receive the
message in figure 1. This indicates your garage door uses a rolling code. If you have
difficulty synchronizing to this rolling code, try the following steps.
1.
When you receive message in figure 2, press “Yes,” even though the garage
door did not move. This cancels the PCM’s synchronization routine and allows Figure 1
the user to synchronize Homelink manually.
2.
To synchronize manually, use the typical Homelink activation button on the
PCM. Press this button repeatedly until the garage door moves. This should
not take more than a minute or so. Then stop pressing the button.
3.
Your Homelink is now synchronized to the garage door’s rolling code.
