Issue
Symptom:
Active Fault Code 1682 or 3574
DEF dosing unit not running when the DEF System Leak Test is run.
Root Cause:
High resistance in OEM harness causes voltage dropout and could be leading to FC1682 or
FC3574 coming active incorrectly.
Verification
Proceed to perform Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid Voltage Drop Test. See corresponding
Service Manual. Reference Procedure 011-165 in Section 11.

Confirm if voltage drop detected after completing the procedure was within specification.
If the voltage drop is within specification, proceed to the corresponding Troubleshooting Tree
for the respective fault code.
If the voltage drop is not within specification, proceed to the Resolution section below.
Resolution
Malfunctioning OEM Wiring harness is detected if the voltage drop is not within specification.
Repair or replace the OEM wiring harness. See corresponding Service Manual. Reference
Procedure 019-071 in Section 19.
