This Service/Parts Topic announces the availability of the oil pan full perimeter clamping plates on
the following engine platforms: C8.3, C8.3G, C Gas Plus, ISC, QSC8.3, L Gas Plus, ISL, and
QSL9. Oil pan full perimeter clamping plates distribute clamping force over the entire oil pan rail
which provides greater gasket sealing ability and helps to prevent oil pan gasket leaks.
This is a product improvement and is not subject to campaign.

The oil pan full perimeter clamping plates, can only be used on engines equipped with stamped
steel oil pan options with a single gasket mounting. The oil pan full perimeter clamping plates can
not be used on oil pans made of materials other than stamped steel, and can not be used on oil
pan options that use RTV, bedplates, or isolated gasket systems. The oil pan full parameter
clamping plates are to be installed on the outside of the rail of the oil pan.
Adding the oil pan full perimeter clamping plates to an engine that was not originally built with the
oil pan full perimeter clamping plates requires longer capscrews and a new gasket. The part
number for the longer 25 mm [1 inch] capscrews, the new clamping plates and the new gasket are
listed below.

facing the oil pan.
