Customer statement:
 Launch Control is no longer operating.
 Launch Control can no longer be engaged according the owner’s manual instructions.
Workshop findings:
 The customer concern can be duplicated.
 The Measured Value for Launch Control Starts in the transmission control module (TCM), J743 (address word
0002) reads 200.
 No DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 0001) or the TCM, J743
(address word 0002).
Technical Background
There is a software bug in the transmission control module (TCM).

Update the TCM to correct this concern.
After the update test drive until the powertrain has reached operating temperature and verify the operation of the
Launch Control per the owner’s manual instructions.
Warning:
 Always adapt your driving to the flow of traffic.
 Only use Launch Control when the road and traffic conditions allow it and other drivers will not be
endangered or impacted by your driving and the vehicle’s acceleration.
 Please note that the drive wheels can spin and the vehicle can break away when sport mode is switched on,
especially when the road is slippery.
 Once the vehicle is moving press the
button.
SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the TCM, J743 (address word 0002) using the SVM action code as listed in the table below, if
necessary:
Tip: Make sure the transmission selector lever is in the “Park” (P) position before starting the SVM update or
the update will fail.
