Or MIL on. Workshop findings: Noises from the crankcase breather. The following DTC may be stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 0001): DTC P052E00 (valve for crankcase ventilation, malfunction). Service 1. Using the hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 check the membrane of the crankcase breather for leaks; a leak can mean a faulty membrane or elbow piece. 2. Remove the compressor/intake manifold and check the membrane for leaks directly on the crankcase breather. Remove the crankcase breather and check the two metal plates for damage (Figure 1).
