Technical Background
Faults present in Engine/Motor Control Module -J623- after adding coolant or refilling the cooling system.
If either fault P16C600 (Heater Support Pump Dry Running) or P194A0 (Coolant Pump RPM Too High) are present in
Engine/Motor Control Module -J623-, after adding coolant for a low coolant concern or draining and refilling the
cooling system, there may be air trapped in the Heater Support Pump -V488-.
Service
The trapped air may be difficult to remove from Heater Support Pump -V488-. The cooling system must be drained or
refilled using the -VAS6096- Cooling System Charge Kit referenced in Coolant Draining and Filling under repair
manual group 19 Cooling System in Elsa.
If either fault P16C600 (Heater Support Pump Dry Running) or P194A00 (Coolant pump RPM too high), are present in
Engine/Motor Control Module -J623- after refilling the cooling system with -VAS6096 - Cooling System Charge Kit:

Raise the front of the vehicle higher than the rear of the vehicle in a safe manner to aid in removal of the air
from the cooling system.
With the front of the vehicle raised:

Run the drain and refill procedure at least one time to remove the air from the cooling system and retest
operation.
