Trailer Hitch Control Module -J345- not being identified after performing “quick tip “2018+ Tiguan Trailer Hitch v1.2 –
step 7”, or in “2020 Cross Sport and 2021 Atlas Trailer Installation Quick Tip – Step 10”. Documents located in
Service Net/Technician References/Accessories/Trailer Hitch.
Service
Once the CAN connection is established in ODIS,
1. Go to Control Module OBD for AW19 Gateway, Perform the coding bus master and change the '?' next to
AW69 Trailer module to a check mark.
2. Identify the Trailer module AW69 back in Guided Fault Finding, by right clicking on AW69 Trailer module and
clicking on “Identify Control Module”. AW69 should no longer be in grey. If AW69 will not identify after it has
been turned on in the coding bus master
3. Exit GFF, perform a two to three minute capacitive discharge,
4. Create a new GFF, and verify that AW69 is now identified.
5. Once the module is identified, perform the adaptation using the supplied codes by selecting special functions,
Adaption, selection option 4 (Perform conversion retrofit with protection license).
