DESCRIPTION Some vehicles may experience the check engine light on with DTCs P2096:00, P2097:00 and/or P0524:00 that cannot be cleared by itself, and the check engine light stays on even if the detection condition has gone. The PCM software has been modified to eliminate this concern. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Verify the customer concern. 2. If DTCs P2096:00, P2097:00 and/or P0524:00 are stored in PCM memory. 3. Reprogram the PCM according to: CX-3, CX-5, MX-5 Mazda2 and Mazda6:IDS ECU Reprogramming Procedure Mazda3: MDARS ECU Reprogramming Procedure 4. Verify the repair.
