The fault entries P227000/P227200 “O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean Bank X Sensor 2” and/or P209600/P209800
“Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Bank x Too Lean” in combination with a check engine light. The MIL remain active
after an engine restart. Most cases are for vehicles with mileages between 7,000 to 50,000 miles.
Technical Background
The rear O2 sensor(s) is found to be bad. The sleeve on the O2 sensor was being heated enough that the fumes from
it were contaminating the sensor.
Service Information
Replace the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter (Sensor 2). Please consult PET for the current,
appropriate sensor.
