HARD START/NO START/LOSS OF ENGINE RPM AFTER REFUELING BUILT ON OR BEFORE 11/9/2013

ISSUE
Some 2013 Escape, 2013-2014 Fusion and MKZ vehicles built on or before 11/9/2013 may exhibit a hard start, no start
and/or a loss of engine RPM after refueling. Some vehicles may also exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp
(MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1450 and/or P0456 stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Replace the evaporative emission canister purge valve. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-13.
