Service News To: From: Subject: Service Managers Service Technicians Region: ☒U.S. ☒CAN Bulletin: SNV21-001 Date: January 25, 2020 Valid to: N/A Action Required? ☐Yes ☒No Reliability Engineering Improved method for determining which DTC to troubleshoot in a MIL on situation This information is applicable to vehicles built January 1, 2021 as it pertains to EMS and ACM DTC’s. The below information will be retroactive to 2019 and 2020 model year Trucks as well, planned release Q1 2021. In situations where the Technician has an illuminated MIL confirmed DTC = True DTC’s. (Malfunction Indicator lamp) and multiple A Software enhancement has been introduced to allow PTT to read and display an additional Bit 7 info type. Upon expanding the “Detailed Status Information” icon within PTT’s fault code scan screen, the Technician will now see a new line for “Warning Indicator Requested”. Warning Indicator Requested = False (DTC not causing MIL, most likely a Healed DTC) Warning Indicator Requested = True (DTC causing MIL and should be diagnosed) This functionality will only be available with latest ECM and ACM software versions.
