• Recall 231891 [USA]: The attachment points may fail, allowing the bench seat to shift and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
  Volvo trucks north america (volvo trucks) is recalling certain 2019-2024 vn and vhd vehicles. The passenger side bench seat may be inadequately attached to the floor. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard numbers 207, "seating systems" and 210, "seatbelt assembly anchorage."
  dealers will replace the weld nut with two nuts and a washer, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on january 5, 2024. The die cast pedal plate may break at one of its attachment points, possibly resulting in the brake pedal dislodging. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 121, "air brake systems."

  Issue: on certain trucks, when the manual override is used to switch off the daytime running lamps (drls), the lights may not turn on again when you start driving. Canadian regulations require that if drls are manually turned off, they must turn on again when you start driving. Safety risk: driving without daytime running lights could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: volvo trucks will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to update the vehicle software.

  Issue: on certain trucks, the support plate for the brake pedal could fail. If this happens, the brake pedal could detach and cause a loss of braking. Safety risk: a loss of brakes can create the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: volvo will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the pedal plate. If a crack is found, the plate will be replaced.

  Issue: on certain trucks, the t-bolts for the transmission air tank straps may have been over-tightened. This could cause the straps to deform and allow the air tank to drop to the ground. If the air tank detaches, the transmission would not shift. Safety risk: an air tank that completely detaches from the truck could create a road hazard for others. A transmission that does not shift properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: volvo will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a dealer to inspect the transmission air tank straps for damage. The straps will be replaced as required.
