Introduction
Volvo Trucks has determined that enhanced vehicle control strategies are needed for application
specific needs. To deliver these improvements new VECU Software has been released and made
available. The new VECU software will improve: PTO functionality, update certain parameters,
enhance cruise control operation, and advanced DTC strategies.

Secure vehicle for service.
Connect the latest version of Premium Tech Tool (PTT) to the Vehicle.
After identification is complete, navigate to the program tab within PTT.
Select operation 1700-08-03-39 Program Electronic Control Unit.
Select the Vehicle Electronic Control Unit option and reprogram the control unit.
After programming is complete, clear any inactive DTC’s left by the programming
process.
7. Return the vehicle to service.
