Oil In Coolant - Cross Contamination From Oil
Cooler - 13L VGT Engines




13L VGT engines manufactured between January 2020 and August 2022
may experience coolant contaminated with oil due to oil cooler failure.
This failure may be due to excess material buildup on the coolant duct
cover that results in interference with the oil cooler.

Inspection
Engines potentially affected by this issue will have a casting date
between January (1) 2020 and August (8) 2022. If oil cooler failure is
determined to be the cause of coolant contamination, the casting
date of the coolant duct cover should be checked.
The casting date can be located and checked using the picture below as a
guide.

If the casting date falls within the possible affected range, the
location below should be inspected to determine if it may have
contributed to the failure.

If the coolant duct cover's appearance matches the suspected part
picture above, both the oil cooler and the coolant duct cover should
be replaced to prevent future failure.

