Introduction
Volvo Trucks has determined that a certain number of trucks shipped-short without the forward
looking radar may not have received proper installation of the electrical connectors/cap that
protects the electrical harness. To ensure that the electrical harness is properly sealed off and
protected for the elements follow the repair below to inspect the connector.

This repair may be eligible for reimbursement if a product failure was
experienced with in time and mileage limits of the applicable Warranty coverage.

Parts Information
Before ordering parts, inspect truck for electrical connector and plugs to be on the vehicle.
Some trucks received the connector and plug but were not properly installed.

Repair Procedure
1. Secure the vehicle for service.
2. Inspect forward looking radar electrical connector/cap for proper installation.
a. If the electrical cap is missing, adequately clean the wiring harness side
connector and spray with anti-corrosion chemical. Order new connector/cap
and wire plugs. Proceed to step 3.
b. If the electrical cap is installed, procedure to step 3 to inspect & configure the
cap.
3. Make sure the cap (P/N 24202558) is configured correctly.
a. Ensure that 10 wire plugs (P/N 22036053) are inserted into the back of the
connector.

b. Looking into the face of the connector, ensure the yellow key is slid to the far
left configuration (as seen below) or is completely removed from the cap.
4. Install the recently configured connector/cap onto the chassis side wiring harness
connector. Ensure the locking tabs are properly engaged to securely hold the cap in
place.
5. Secure wiring harness and connector to prevent damage.
6. Release the vehicle for service.
