Introduction
Volvo Trucks has determined that enhanced transmission control strategies are needed for
application specific needs. To deliver these improvements new TECU Software has been released
and made available. The new TECU software will improve engine oscillations during idle, clutch
release strategy, 12th gear lockout functionality, Predictive cruise enhancements, and off-road
shift performance

Secure vehicle for service.
Connect the latest version of Premium Tech Tool (PTT) to the Vehicle.
After identification is complete, navigate to the program tab within PTT.
Select operation 1700-08-03-39 Program Electronic Control Unit.
Select the MID 130 (Transmission Electronic Control Unit) option and reprogram the
control unit.
6. After programming is complete, clear any inactive DTC’s left by the programming
process.
7. Return the vehicle to service.
