Freightliner Engine Harness Clearance
Altec is committed to providing our customers reliable products from initial delivery throughout
the useful life of the machine.
Altec has been notified of a recall campaign by Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA).
DTNA, on behalf of its Freightliner Trucks Division, has decided that a defect that relates to
motor vehicle safety exists on specific model year 2018-2021 Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, and
Business Class M2 vehicles manufactured May 24, 2017 through August 26, 2020 and equipped
with a Detroit Diesel DD8 engine.
On certain vehicles, the engine harness may contact and chafe at various locations around the air

risk of a crash. Engine harnesses will be inspected for damage, adequate clearance, and repaired
as required.
Owners of affected units - Please contact an authorized DTNA dealer to arrange to have the
recall performed and to ensure that parts are available at the dealership. Instructions on how to
request this service are included in the attached letter from DTNA.
Altec is not able to complete this repair. All work must be completed by an authorized DTNA
dealer.
