Right Front Door Body Side Molding Adhesive Visible
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting and if necessary replacing the right front door body side
molding.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after February 14, 2013 (MDH
0214XX) and on or before March 13, 2013 (MDH 0313XX) equipped with bright
body side molding (sales code MHE).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Right front door body side molding adhesive visible.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other
customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

Molding, Right Front Door
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Inspect the right front door molding. Is the mounting tape visible as shown in (Fig. 1)?
a. Yes>>> Proceed to Step #2.
b. No>>>> Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.

NOTE: The inspection figure is at the leading edge of the right front door molding
near the right front fender.

2. Remove the right front door molding using trim stick C-4755 as shown in (Fig. 2)

3. Remove adhesive residue form the door panel with 3M General Purpose Adhesive
Cleaner 08984 or equivalent using a trim stick C-4755 (Fig. 3).

4. Clean the surface area where the new molding will be installed with isopropyl alcohol
(Fig. 4).

5. Remove the adhesive protective backing from the new door molding and install on the
vehicle aligning with the sliding door molding (Fig. 5).
NOTE: Using your hands apply firm pressure to the molding in 20 second intervals
to ensure it is properly wetted out.
