(V475) detail.
Technical Background
There is an issue with O-ring of auxiliary hydraulic pump (V475).
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Clean gearbox housing/perform short test drive to warm up gearbox/locate leak and (if necessary)
replace O-ring for electric motor for auxiliary hydraulic pump 1 (V475).
1. Clean and remove all oil residue from the transmission and allow the surface to dry. Confirm the exact
location of the leak by applying oil leak tracing powder to the suspected areas of the leak. Do not use oil
dyes in any Audi transmissions.

Figure 3. Example of gear oil leaking in area of
auxiliary hydraulic pump (V475).
3. Perform a short test drive to warm up the gearbox (oil temperature at least 80° C).
Option A. If it is clear, the leak is between the electric
motor for auxiliary hydraulic pump (V475) and the
transmission housing. Document your findings and
please take photos of the leak and retain them with the
repair order. Photos should:
 Have a date stamp and VIN reference.
 Be taken in focus and with sufficient light.
The O-ring (item 33, highlighted in yellow in Figure 4)
for the electric motor for auxiliary hydraulic pump 1
(V475) must then be replaced according to the repair
manual.

hydraulic pump (V475).
Tip: Lubricate the O-ring and the area of the
transmission that the seal contacts with ATF to prevent
damage to the O-ring during installation.
Option B: If the O-ring for the electric motor for auxiliary hydraulic pump (V475) is not determined as the
cause of the leak, this TSB does not apply. Please continue diagnosis outside of this TSB.
