Classification: Reference: EC14-003 Date: NTB14-044 May 16, 2014 2013 – 2014 SENTRA; MIL ON WITH DTC P0448 APPLIED VEHICLES: 2013 – 2014 Sentra (B17) IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is ON with DTC P0448 (Vent Control Valve). ACTION 1. Reposition the EVAP canister box-drain. 2. Empty water from the EVAP canister filter. NOTE: The Service Procedure in this bulletin should be performed only once per applied vehicle. Check the vehicle service history for the op-code listed in the Claims Information before performing the repairs in this bulletin. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/7 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), section EXT-Exterior, for removal information. 2. Locate the EVAP canister box-drain. The EVAP canister box-drain is located on the passenger side just below the taillight area. EVAP canister box-drain Figure 1 2/7 NTB14-044 NG: Open end is UP. It will be reinstalled facing down. 3. Remove the EVAP canister box-drain. Pull off Pull to unsnap and remove. Figure 2 4. Clean any dirt, ice, or debris from inside the box-drain. 5. Re-install the EVAP canister box-drain with the open end down as shown in Figure 3. Push on OK: Open end is down Figure 3 3/7 NTB14-044 NOTE: EVAP canister filter for 2014 Sentra is shown in Figure 4, 2013 Sentra is similar. Figure 4 shows the canister with the bumper fascia removed. EVAP canister filter 6. Remove the EVAP canister filter: Refer to Figure 4, and Figures 5 and 6 on the following pages. 7. Empty water from the EVAP canister filter. 8. Re-install the EVAP canister filter. Figure 4 9. Re-install the rear bumper fascia. (1) Refer to the electronic parts catalog (FAST or equivalent) and use the applicable Box Drain-Canister (18794 – XXXXX) part number as the Primary Failed Part (PFP).
