Workshop findings: The following DTCs may be stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 0001): DTC P218100 (Malfunction in cooling system). DTC P017B00 (Cylinder head temperature sensor implausible signal). DTC P017C00 (Cylinder head temperature sensor short circuit to ground). DTC P017E00 (Cylinder head temperature sensor open circuit/loose contact). Technical Background Damage to the O-ring of the temperature sensor can cause water intrusion inside the plastic housing of the coolant temperature sender G407 (cylinder head temperature sensor). It is very important to also check whether the O-ring located directly on the tip of the coolant temperature sender G407 is visibly damaged and/or pinched (Figure 1). Figure 1. O-ring is pinched. 3. Replace the G407 if it is damaged and/or pinched. Warranty Claim Type: 110 up to 48 Months/50,000 Miles. G10 for CPO Covered Vehicles – Verify Owner.
