Case Number: S2123000022 Release Date: 04/09/2021 Symptom/Vehicle Issue: Steering Damper Mounting Information Customer Complaint/Technician Observation: Steering Damper 68251580AF has updated mounting to ensure the damper goes on the correct direction (fig 1). The AF level damper requires a new outboard attachment bolt be installed that features a longer square shoulder 06513445AA (new in fig 1). As with past practice the bolt must be replaced every time the damper is serviced. Fig 1 New mounting bushing and bolt design This document does not authorize warranty repairs. Using long screw drivers or bolts as handles prime the damper full strokes 5 times as shown in fig 2. Fig 2 Damper Priming Proper installation has the intake bulge position down indicated in fig 3.
