Technical Background
For customer concerns of MIL ON with fault P0401/P2002. Inspect the EGR passage in cylinder head for casting
irregularities or carbon build up (figure 1). Also inspect the EGR ports on the intake valve side of the intake
manifold/intercooler (figure 2).

Service
If the ports internal to the intake manifold are found restricted and faults P2002 and/or P0401 are set, replace the
intake manifold. For the cylinder head ports, clean with an appropriate diameter pick and/or brush.
