Classification: EC21-008 Reference: Date: NTB21-049 June 8, 2021 MIL ON WITH DTC P0101 AND/OR P0507 STORED IN THE ECM APPLIED VEHICLES: 2018-2021 Kicks (P15) 2020-2021 Versa (N18) IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is ON and DTC P0101 (MAF SENSOR) and/or P0507 (ISC SYSTEM) is stored in the ECM. ACTION 1. Test the vehicle’s 12 volt battery using the Midtronics DSS-5000. Recharge or replace the battery if necessary. 2. Erase all DTCs. 3. Perform Idle Air Volume Learning (IAVL). IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/3 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Test the vehicle’s 12 volt battery using the Midtronics DSS-5000. The DSS-5000 contains internal operating instructions accessed using its touch screen. The DSS-5000 operating instructions are also found at http://nissan.dss5000.com/. These operating instructions include a Quick Start Guide and VIN scanning tips. There is also a SIR video Vol. 551 that demonstrates the use of the DSS-5000. 2. Recharge or replace the battery if the test result indicates to do so. 3. Erase all DTCs. 4. Start the engine and allow it to idle for a minimum of 20 minutes under the following conditions: Engine hood closed. Ambient temperature MUST be above 5°C (40°F). o If the ambient temperature is lower than 5°C (40°F), move the vehicle inside a building. 5. Engine coolant temperature MUST be above 80°C (175°F). ALL electric accessories MUST be turned off. Perform the Idle Air Volume Learning (IAVL) using the CONSULT-III. 2/3 NTB21-049 CLAIMS INFORMATION Submit a Primary Part (PP) type line claim using the following claims coding: DESCRIPTION Test & Charge Battery, Erase DTC’s and Perform IVAL Procedure (1) PFP OP CODE SYM DIA FRT (1) DX60AA ZE 32 0.6 Reference the electronic parts catalog and use the Throttle Chamber (16119-*****) as the Primary Failed Part (PFP). OR If the battery is replaced: DESCRIPTION PFP Test & Charge Battery (1) Idle Air Volume Learning Procedure (2) SYM DIA FRT ZE 32 (2) GB18AA Replace Battery (1) OP CODE GB181A DE96AA Reference the electronic parts catalog and use the Throttle Chamber (16119-*****) as the Primary Failed Part (PFP). Reference the current Nissan Warranty Flat Rate Manual and use the indicated Flat Rate Time (FRT). NOTE: FRT allows adequate time to access DTC codes. No other diagnostic procedures subsequently required. Do NOT claim any Diagnostic Op Codes with this claim.
