Bulletin No.: PI1164B Date: Dec-2015 Subject: Reduced Engine Power with Service Engine Message Displayed and DTC P2263 Set Models: 2011-2016 Chevrolet Express 2011-2016 GMC Savana Equipped with 6.6L Duramax® Diesel Engine (RPO LGH) Attention: This PI also applies to any of the above models that may be Export vehicles. This PI has been revised to add the 2016 Model Year. Please discard PI1164A. Condition/Concern Some customers may comment on vehicle reduced engine power with a Service Engine message displayed. Upon inspection, a technician may find DTC P2263 set. This condition may be caused by snow or ice being ingested into the air cleaner housing and accumulating in the air cleaner element, resulting in restricted airflow into the engine. Recommendation/Instructions Remove the air cleaner element. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement in SI. Inspect the air cleaner element for the following conditions: • Packed snow • Frozen ice • A soaking wet condition that would indicate previous snow ingestion • Excessive debris and contamination as a result of the ingestion If any of the above conditions are observed, replace the air cleaner element. Remove any snow or ice that may have accumulated in the air intake duct and install the radiator grille cover with the part number listed below. Note: Winter covers for vans that are equipped with the Duramax® Diesel Engine are included with vehicle orders that ship to colder states and all regions of Canada. General Motors is not responsible for costs to replace a missing, lost or misplaced cover.
