Mack Trucks Greensboro, NC USA Service Program Trucks Date 12.2021 Group No. Release Page 381 047 01 1(5) Instrument Cluster Reprogramming (MID 140) GU, GR PI0889 Differential Lock Engagement Status Alarm Update (MID 140) (December 2021) This notification is to announce that Mack trucks has released improved differential lock warning software for the instrument cluster. Previously the driver would be initially alerted to the system engagement with a popup in the cluster along with an audible alarm that lasted approximately five seconds then would automatically dismiss. The improved software keeps the message and alarm persistent until the system is disengaged. The message in the cluster can be ignored for thirty seconds but will return. The following highlights the differences between the current and new software. To perform the update, follow the procedure below Note: This bulletin does not apply to MACK Trucks Australia. If you are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your supervisor for training before you perform it. NOTE: Information is subject to change without notice. Failure to follow this could make the vehicle unsafe and lead to serious personal injury or death. 1 Park the vehicle on a flat and level surface. 2 Apply the parking brake. 3 Place the transmission in neutral or park. 4 Install the wheel chocks. W7086748 5 Using Premium Tech Tool (PTT), connect to the vehicle, select MID 140 Instrument Cluster Programming and program the control unit.
