NOTE: A Special Service Message is a formal communication issued by Land Rover and carries
the same importance of a Technical Service Bulletin. An SSM is a quick method of
communicating "Need To Know" information to the technical service community. SSM's may be
issued in advance of a technical bulletin or may be the only communication on a given topic. All
information contained in Land Rover technical communications are intended for use by trained,
professional technicians with the knowledge, tools, and equipment required to complete the
procedure correctly and safely. It informs the Technicians of conditions that may occur on some
vehicles, or provides information that could assist in correct vehicle and diagnostic service.

JLR is investigating Ingenium I4 2.0L Petrol logging
P0142-00 O2 Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 3 - No sub type
information logged within the Powertrain Control
Module (PCM) resulting in Oxygen Sensor 3
replacements.
Cause:
Persistent engine misfire logging DTC P1315 Persistent
Misfire - No sub type information also logged within the
Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This may cause lower
exhaust gas temperatures which then triggers P0142-00
and is resulting in false replacements of Oxygen sensor
although the sensor is functioning correctly, resulting in
repeat claims.
Action:
When completing vehicle diagnosis, if DTC P1315
Persistent Misfire - No sub type information is logged
within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), please
follow the DTC help text for this DTC prior to
investigating P0142-00 O2 Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 3
- No sub type information.
