The customer states that the Automatic Back Door Lock and Close Switch Assembly is
loose or has fallen out of the back door (Figure 1).

ACTION
Remove a small amout of material from the back door, around the inside of the switch
opening.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the Automatic Back Door
Lock and Close Switch Assembly
(back door switch) from the back door.


Remove a small amount of the plastic flashing from the back door inner edges, in the
areas outlined in Figure 3, as follows:

a. Locate an appropriate tool. An appropriate tool can be anything with a sharp edge
(example shown in Figure 4) that will easily remove a small amount of plastic
flashing.
 A professional deburr tool is recommended.

b. Using an appropriate tool, gently scrape the the tool along the inside edge of the
opening with the tool at a 90 degree angle (sharp edge pointed at plastic flashing) to
the material that is being removed (Figure 5).

Only remove 0.25 mm (0.010 in.) from both the upper and lower areas
(Figure 6), and then confirm if the back door switch will securely snap into the
back door.
NOTE: When securely snapped into place, the back door switch will not be able
to be removed by hand.
c. Repeat step 2b a second time if the back door switch does not securely snap into
place.
