Bulletin No.: Service Bulletin Date: 21-NA-288 December, 2021 TECHNICAL Subject: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated with DTC P0AA1 – Hybrid/EV Battery Positive Contactor Circuit Stuck Closed Brand: Model: Chevrolet Opel Model Year: VIN: from to Bolt EV 2017 2019 Ampera-e 2017 2019 from to — — Engine: Transmission: — — Involved Region or Country North America, Europe, Middle East, GM Korea Company Condition Some customers may comment on a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illuminated in the DIC. Technicians may find the MIL illuminated with DTC P0AA1 (and/or P0AA4). P0AA1 may be failed current, causing the MIL to illuminate. If the MIL is not currently illuminated, use GDS2 to determine if the P0AA1 DTC History Status shows "History", which indicates the MIL was recently illuminated for this DTC. Cause The cause of the condition may be that the contactor(s) may have welded closed due to a previous software anomaly accompanied by certain operating conditions. Correction Replace the High Voltage Battery Disconnect Relay (which includes the contactors). Refer to Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Disconnect Relay Replacement in SI. Ensure any incomplete field actions are performed, which will install the software solution for this condition.
