Condition
Some customers may comment on a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illuminated in
the DIC.
Technicians may find the MIL illuminated with DTC P0AA1 (and/or P0AA4). P0AA1 may
be failed current, causing the MIL to illuminate.
If the MIL is not currently illuminated, use GDS2 to determine if the P0AA1 DTC History
Status shows "History", which indicates the MIL was recently illuminated for this DTC.
Cause
The cause of the condition may be that the contactor(s) may have welded closed due to a
previous software anomaly accompanied by certain operating conditions.
Correction
Replace the High Voltage Battery Disconnect Relay (which includes the contactors).
Refer to Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Battery Disconnect Relay Replacement in SI. Ensure any
incomplete field actions are performed, which will install the software solution for this
condition.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
information.
