Customer complaint of coolant light on or low coolant level in expansion tank without visible leaks.
Technical Background
Customer complaint of coolant light on or low coolant level in expansion tank without visible leaks.
Production Solution
Improved coolant fill process implemented in production at vehicle factory.
Service
Before replacing any cooling system related parts, including but not limited to, coolant pump, thermostat,
head gasket, coolant hoses/lines, or seals; the vehicle must be pressure tested according to ELSA
instruction and inspected to verify an actual coolant leak exists.
If no internal or external leaks are identified during the pressure test, then it is likely the cooling system
contained an air pocket during the initial fill that that has now escaped. Do not replace any parts for this
condition.
