A customer concern may be of a belt chirp noise and/or metal to metal noise.
The outer ring of the harmonic balancer may slide backward and cause a
misalignment of the belt. The outer ring may slide back far enough to contact the
timing cover and oil pan(s).
Correction:
Inspect the harmonic balancer, timing cover and oil pans. Replace as needed. See images below for examples.

The new damper has a hub that is longer than the inertia ring. Movement can be identi ed by inspecting the hub
directly at the elastomer. Look for a witness mark of where the elastomer was originally positioned.
