Service Technical Information 37/22 ENU WNB4 9 WNB4 - Replacing Interior Surveillance Sensor (Workshop Campaign) Important: CRITICAL WARNING -This campaign includes steps where control unit(s) in the vehicle will be programmed with the PIWIS Tester. The vehicle voltage must be maintained between 13.5 volts and 14.5 volts during this programming. Failure to maintain this voltage could result in damaged control unit(s). Damage caused by inadequate voltage during programming is not a warrantable defect. The technician must verify the actual vehicle voltage in the PIWIS Tester before starting the campaign and also document the actual voltage on the repair order. Model Year: As of 2021 Model Line: Taycan (Y1A) Taycan Cross Turismo (Y1B) Taycan Sport Turismo (Y1C) Concerns: Interior surveillance sensor Information: There is a possibility that the main antenna (LTE reception) of the communication control unit on the affected vehicles can interfere with the function of the adjacent sensor for interior surveillance by means of electromagnetic signals in the area of the mirror base. If this happens, the alarm system can be triggered unwarranted by the interior surveillance system. Action required: Read out the hardware part number of the interior surveillance sensor and depending on the result of the check, either: • Re-coding rear-end electronics control unit or • Affected Vehicles: Replacing interior surveillance sensor and re-coding rear-end electronics control unit Only the vehicles assigned to the campaign (see also PCSS Vehicle Information).
