M1550 2022-04-13 M1550: 2022 FLHXST AND FLTRXST SEAT FOAM Reason for Revision which can cause the foam padding to fold when the seat is pulled over the thumb screws. Refer to Table 1. Purpose for Service Bulletin This bulletin informs dealers that certain Harley-Davidson 2022 FLTRXST and FLHXST vehicles appear to be missing foam at the rear of the seat. Vehicles that exhibit this condition, missed a step in the installation of the seat during the vehicle assembly. 1. Motorcycles Affected See Figure 1. Action Required NO YES 1 Resolution Actionable: Any vehicle, component or software related issues must be performed per service bulletin procedure. 1. The seat is not defective. There is a portion of the seat foam padding that surrounds the area of the thumb screws. If the foam padding is not properly positioned around the thumb screws, it will look like there is a portion of foam missing at the rear of the seat. The seat foam should be repositioned around the thumb screws as intended during vehicle assembly. 2. Sunken area Figure 1. Typical Appearance See Figure 2. The suspect area seems to have missing foam padding when pressure is applied (2). The latest warranty concern is about the missing foam padding in the rear of the rider seat. It happens to be that the foam padding in the rear corner folds back into the seat during the installation. b. Repair: The foam padding can be repositioned with one finger through the opening of the seat bottom. 4. 5. Properly seated Figure 4. After Repair See Figure 5.
